Don’t worry Blues, we got this!

The Under 10s Concord Burwood Wolves have created history by becoming the first-ever team from NSW to compete in the Gorden Tallis Cup, against 63 teams from all over Queensland. Add to this achievement – Victory! Congratulations to this Superstar Team, their coaches, their families and the generous sponsors who made it all happen.

This prestigious round robin carnival was held on 2-3 July 2016, in the Raging Bull’s territory of Townsville.

With a Mini State-of-Origin feel, the Concord-Burwood cubs were determined to bring home the trophy and restore some bragging rights for the Blues. And this is exactly what they did.

The Team

Under the guidance of coaches Andrew Mitchell and Terry Langi, the Concord-Burwood U/10 squad comprises top prospects in fullback Alex Conti, wingers Gary Young and Jacob Teaupa, centres Michael Nasser and Epeli Leao, halves Finlay Mitchell and Marc Tannous, hooker Levi Moon and forwards Edwin Langi, Jordan Rupeana, Richie Smythe, Harry Phillips and Alesandro Lombardo.

Gorden Tallis Cup Sponsors

How It All Began. The Road to Townsville.

Supporters of the Wolves and coaches Andrew Mitchell & Terry Langi, chased sponsorship from local businesses & community organisations to help fund the trip to Townsville.

“The aim is not necessarily to win the tournament, it’s about giving the boys a once in a lifetime opportunity to play in a Carnival like this and experience different cities and towns in Australia,” co-coach Andrew Mitchell.

In the spirit of good sportsmanship, friendship and teamwork, the sponsors stood by these boys, raised the necessary funds and quite simply, made their dreams come true.
