Here at Conti Strata we believe we have made lifelong friends with a Little Warrior named Anabela.
It was by chance that we came across a GoFundMe webpage (crowd-funding site) set up by Loz Cray, a close friend of Sarah Pearce and her daughter Anabela “Bubbles” Kleyn. Little Anabela was in need of critical equipment to support her health and continued development.
Anabela may seem like your average toddler with her cheeky smile but she has been described by doctors as ‘medically complex’ given the rare number of conditions she was diagnosed with shortly after birth.
She currently sees up to 70 specialists due to a long list of conditions including limb defects, additional ribs, being born without her right ear, spina bifida and issues with her throat that can often stop her eating and breathing.
“… behind those smiley photos are ongoing treatments, specialist appointments, hospital stays, operations and emergencies. Even though our mate might not ask for help the truth is it would make a huge difference.” – Loz Cray
Our team was honoured to support Anabela’s cause by providing medical equipment. Being a typical 2 year old, we believe Anabela is most excited about her Wiggles-themed bedroom package.
THE BIG DAY – MEETING ANABELA
As soon as Anabela walked in our office, there was a buzz of excitement and playfulness. The love and pure joy that this young child expressed towards our staff are a testament to the lessons of unconditional love her mother has shown her. We were inspired and in awe of the special bond that mother and daughter share.
We wish Sarah and Anabela all the love and healing in the world and hope to continue our friendship with them for years to come.
Let’s not mix our words here, Sarah is doing it tough, both financially and emotionally. She is the sole carer of Anabela. Sarah has made the decision to leave her family and friends in the Blue Mountains and move to Sydney so that she could offer her child a fighting chance by being close to the Sydney Children’s Hospital. Spare a thought for Sarah who manages, records and researches Anabela’s many conditions.
Sarah and Anabela may have crossed some things off their list today, but there will be many more tomorrow.
It’s a long journey ahead and Anabela the Little Warrior is only as strong as the army behind her.
Please donate and champion her victory.
