PROUD TO BE A PART OF CONCORD CARNIVAL 2014
This year’s Concord Carnival was held on Sunday 12 October and featured a ‘Paws ‘n’ Claws, Tails ‘n’ Scales’ theme. Everyone and their four legged friends walked, strolled, hopped or trotted down to Greenlees Park, Concord, where Conti Strata were hosting the Reptile Enclosure and the Concord-Burwood Wolves Rugby League Football Club stall.
Although we admired from afar, many of us chose not to get too close to the critters at Get Wild, which included snakes, lizards, a turtle, a baby crocodile and twin baby sugar gliders, just to name a few! Instead, we enjoyed our day by chatting with local families and handing out lolly bags of jelly babies which were a welcome ‘pick me up’ for adults and children alike in the sweltering heat!
MP John Sidoti, Member of Drummoyne was kind enough to pop by and take a photo with the kids from Concord-Burwood Wolves.
There was a large variety of food stalls, amusement rides, a mini petting zoo, cricket workshops, a best-dressed dog competition plus much more! City of Canada Bay Council estimates that 30,000 people attended the event, which must have kept Mayor Angelo Tsirekas very busy meeting and greeting all the locals.
Conti Strata was delighted to support our local community in such a positive, fun-filled, family orientated event where a good time was had by all.
